"Bringing your community together, one newspaper at a time."

Community News

The Community News is the longest running publication at About Our Town. The Community news has three versions, the Community News, the Piscataway

Community News, and the Somerset County Community News. Community News serves Dunellen, Green Brook, Middlesex, Piscataway, Somerset, Bridgewater, Manville, Bound Brook, South Bound Brook, Hillsborough, and Somerville.

Newspaper Revivals

Years ago, most communities had their own weekly press. About Our Town has been able to recreate some of those publications as inserts into the Community News publication. Inserted Revival publications include The Bound Brook Chronicle, Manville's News, The Dunellen Report and Middlesex Chronicle!

Numbers to Know

The Numbers to Know Card which provides phone numbers of local amenities, businesses, services, and township emergency numbers, to central New Jersey Residents is mailed yearly with updated contact information and new services.

Direct mail often takes the form of a postcard, brochures, and flyers. Mailings can be mailed along with our Community News publication as an insert, or a stand-alone mailing. About Our Town works closely with the post office to give you the lowest mailing price possible.

"Thank you so very much for including The Middlesex Community School programs and trip in the November edition of Community News!  Similar to the response to the Radio City excursion, your article on FROZEN- the Musical on the Local Art and Culture page has led to a rapid sellout! AMAZING! Once again, please accept my abundant thanks to you and your staff for your impeccable work! I know a lot of AOT families will enjoy the gift of Broadway this holiday season!"

Thank you so much for [About Our Town's] continuous support by placing our scout troop’s events. Our events are community driven and the fundraisers help our scouting families, who are unable to afford the high costs of scouting. Without local papers like the Community News, our events would not be successful!  The scouts truly thank you for that!

About Our Town's Graphic Designer, Ron Dahl, is by far the best ad designer I have worked with. He just seems to get it! Thank you, Ron!

I read a great article on Wayne Scott, one of About Our Town's longest running advertisers in the March edition of Community News. I've known Wayne for 6 years. I have used him for jobs at my house, a job at my husband's firehouse and my mom's house. True gentleman; true businessman, great person.

I often pick up a copy of Community News at a newsstand close to where I work. I must say that I thoroughly enjoy reading the local news. The editor includes relevant information for Somerset County residents. In my opinion, About Our Town serves as an important role to the community.

As a new subscriber, I am enjoying receiving the paper.  It is a great way to follow local events. I especially like how easy it is to find and support local businesses through articles and advertisements.  Nice hometown feel- you do not get from the internet!
